| Accelerated Reader is a reading program that encourages your child to read a book (or have it read to him/her) and then be tested on it. The tests are available on the bank of Mac computers in the library. By answering 60% or more of the questions correctly, your child will receive points based on the length of the book and its reading level. Read more information about Accelerated Reader. |
Accelerated Reader Books are available in the McKean Elementary Library. Using the color chart on the right to determine reading levels, students match the corresponding dot on the spine of the book. Once the child has completed a book, he/she can take a test using a computer in the library.
Accelerated Reader is a self-paced, individualized computer-assisted reading program used in many of the public schools in our area. Children read books and then take computerized multiple-choice tests that measure their comprehension of the books. |
