As stated in the Student Handbook, General McLane High School has a policy in place that does not allow the use and/or possession of electronic devices on school property. Students in violation of this policy will realize the following consequences:

First offense - device(s) will be taken away and turned into the office. The student may recover the item(s) at the end of the day.
Repeat offense - device(s) will be taken away and turned into the office. Items will remain confiscated until a parent arranges to retrieve them.

Cell Phones/Beepers
The possession of telephone paging devices, commonly referred to as beepers, or cell phones is prohibited on school grounds during the day. Such items will be confiscated.

Laser Pointers
Laser Pointers are potentially dangerous and will be permanently confiscated if found in students’ possession.

Walkmans
Walkmans and other electronic listening devices are not permitted in school or on the school bus.
