Mrs. Capozzoli teaches many of the computer classes offered at General McLane.


Computer Animation (Course #349) .50 credit

Students will study computer animation along with graphics and video editing as it pertains to Web development. The animation will be used to enhance the content and design of a Web page.
One nine week course

prerequisite: "A" grade in Webmaster I and instructors' permission
grades: 9, 10, 11, 12

*Macromedia Flash MX is used to create mini-movies and animations.


Programming I (Course #340) .50 credit
Students will study the process of top down programming including input, output, decisions, loops, and functions. Problem solving and flowcharting techniques are developed. Theoretical information on computer hardware, software, careers, and current trends is presented.

grades: 9, 10, 11, 12

Programming II (Course #341) .50 credit
Students reinforce and master the skills learned in Programming I. Problem solving is emphasized and includes advanced functions, arrays, searching, sorting, and files. Theoretical information on networking, companies, and current trends is presented.

prerequisite: a "B" grade or higher in Programming I
grades: 9, 10, 11, 12

Programming III (Course #342) .50 credit
Students reinforce and master the skills learned in Programming I. Problem solving is emphasized and includes advanced functions, arrays, searching, sorting, and files. Theoretical information on networking, companies, and current trends is presented.

grades: 9, 10, 11, 12

Webmaster I (Course #347) .50 credit
Students will learn many aspects of Web design as it pertains to the production of General McLaneís Web site. The class will apply skills learned in Computer Technology along with advanced techniques to design, develop and publish Web pages for the districtís Web presence.

prerequisite: "A" grade in Computer Technology and instructors' permission
grades: 9, 10, 11, 12

Students have the opportunity to use programs from Macromedia
such as Dreamweaver MX and Fireworks MX (above) to enhance the school website.


Webmaster II (Course #348) .50 credit
Students will apply the skills of Web design from Webmaster I to maintain and improve General McLane's Web site. Navigational concerns, consistency, and ease of use will be emphasized. Students will work closely with staff to effectively and efficiently represent the district. Some after school time may be required.
